Objective:
To provide users who are new to MedDRA coding with a starter course; it is highly recommended that this course be followed up with additional hands-on coding training.
Description:
This 2-hour webinar provides a brief overview of MedDRA; introduces the MedDRA Term Selection: Points to Consider document; uses coding examples to illustrate general principles of coding; and provides trainees with a set of coding pearls based on the broad coding experience of MSSO's medical personnel.
This course is designed for:
MedDRA users interested in a quick, easy-to-understand introduction to MedDRA coding principles. Personnel who may code with MedDRA occasionally or who will review data coded by others will find this course helpful.
This brief webinar is not intended to develop comprehensive coding skills; for persons who will be performing coding as their primary function, additional hands-on practical training is recommended.
Course outline:
Learn the reasons why we "code" data
Gain knowledge of MedDRA's structure, scope, and characteristics
Learn about the MedDRA Term Selection: Points to Consider document
Learn some basic coding approaches, including some coding "pearls"
